No no!

Tonight after reading the wutz two books, I prepared to put him to bed. He grabbed his glow worm, which he calls Baby. He gave it a squeeze and the music played. It served as a painful reminder of this morning, at 5am, when he started playing his glow worm over and over and over.

So tonight I decided that I'd open the back of said glow worm and turn off the sound. However, the wutz would have none of it. He snatched Baby from me, ripped open the back and flipped the switch back so it would play music. Then he looked up at me, lifted on index finger and wagged it back and forth and said, "No no!"

I truly cannot remember the last time I laughed so hard.

Priceless!

So Literal!

Sometimes I forget how completely literal little kids can be. Today, after lunch, the wutz retrieved a bag of Doritos from the kitchen counter. I told him that if he was going to snack on them, he needed to put them on the coffee table.

He listened all too well. ~sigh~

Pretend Puppy

We have seven dogs now. We did have ten but, unfortunately, we lost three this year. I think with that many dogs, we may be doing something wrong with the wutz.

What do you think?

Wutz in a Bucket

I placed a massive order from Jeffers the other day. The items arrived today. It was all supplies for the animals. The largest being four feed buckets for some of the horses. When I placed the order, I thought the buckets looked really small in the pictures, but I took a chance. Turns out the pictures were very very misleading!

School Art and a Tractor House

First, the work that the wutz did at school today:

Later this evening, the wutz insisted we build a tractor house, which basically means a megablock building that he can drive his tractor through once, then crash it by whatever means necessary. He did pause to relax a bit before beginning the destruction, though.

Wutz Proof?

I don't know how or why, but there is no cup on this planet that is wutz proof. He is able to crack open every single sort of lidded cup in some interesting way.

When he was a baby just cutting his first teeth, he learned that he could use them like a bottle opener to pry the lids off the disposable sippy cups. He'd laugh as the contents of said up were unceremoniously dumped on the floor.

Then he grew bored with prying the lids off. By then he had all his teeth in place and would gnaw on the sippy cup spouts until they were significantly cracked enough to be able to pour copious amounts of liquid onto the floor once more.

Next he mastered his fine motor skills. This meant that he could grip the sippy cup lids and twist them until the lid easily came off. Again there was a juice puddle on my floor.

Finally, I felt as if I had a handle on his tendencies to pour his juice rather than drink it. Until yesterday.

After preschool we stopped at Chick-Fil-A and got him a Kids' Meal with a sweet tea in a styrofoam cup. We've never had an issue with it before. Until we were halfway home and I heard a soft pop. I turned my head to see a toddler-thumb sized hole in the side of the cup, which he was using to pour Sweet Tea onto the floorboard of my Expedition.

Grrrreat.

He has to stop this someday, right?

Color!

I talked to the wutz's teacher today after school. She said he did very well today - he hardly hit at all! I'm soooo proud!

Truly, I'm glad he seems to be improving. I really hated the thought of having that child. You know, the class bully!

After school, we went home and he did a little big of color. Man, I love those washable markers. They are a sanity saver, aren't they?

And here is today's artwork from school:

In Momma's Shoes

Sunday, after Church, the wutz decided he'd walk a mile in Momma's shoes. He didn't quite get farther than a few feet, but it was still pretty darned cute!
