I ask for so little...

Today was the annual Santa Fly In. Santa, as always, arrived in style.

(That's my sister in black, btw.)

Once Santa and Mrs. Claus settled in, Mrs. Claus read a book to the children. After the book the kids got to sit on Santa's lap and tell them what they wanted. The wutz loved it. He told Santa he had been a very good boy.

Then when Santa asked the wutz what he wanted, he proceeded to point to the object of his desire:

What was it that my dear child wanted, you ask? Here, let me show you:

Best Friend

Today the wutz nestled in beside me on the couch and gave me a squeeze. Then he told me I was his best friend.

Merry Christmas to me! I think that was the best gift ever.

First Sentence

The wutz spoke his first sentence today! He's been talking in three word sentences more recently, but today, for the first time, he said:

Colter, good day at Gramma's house!

I think it may make Granny a little jealous, but I'm excited he made a sentence! Yay Colter!

Love you

Tonight the wutz climbed up onto my lap, threw his arms around my neck, leaned in close and said "Wub you, Mommy!" then gave me a big smooch!

It was the first time he's ever said that to me without being prompted. I melted like butter!

Veteran's Day March

Today is Veteran's Day. One of the rare holidays that I get off, since most holidays fall on Mondays and I don't work Mondays. I was so excited to have the morning to myself! The wutz has school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so after his school, I had it all scheduled for my nephew to watch him down in Tallahassee. That meant I'd have an ENTIRE day to myself. Bliss.

But for those of you that have had children, you realize I'm still getting a crash course in Sod's Law. Which, quite naturally, was called into play. The wutz is sick. Last night he had a fever of 102.5, which meant there was no way I was going to send him to school today.

So here we are. Home together.

I don't mind it, I'd much rather him get better, especially since we are going to Disney World this weekend!

However, I think he's going a little stir crazy. Just a few minutes ago he was stomping around the house exclaiming "March! March! March!" The parade continued around and around the sofa, around the island in the kitchen, then back around the sofa again. But then suddenly he'd exclaim, "Wait a minute!" then come to a complete halt before resuming his "March! March! March!"

Honestly, I tried not to laugh, but...

The Wutz's First Movie!

We took the wutz to see his first movie on Saturday. We went to the noon showing of Madagascar 2. After purchasing two large Cokes, M&Ms, and popcorn we settled into our seats. The wutz sat on Daddy's lap and munched popcorn and drank Coke like an old movie pro.

He lasted for about an hour, then it became obvious he was growing too sleepy to enjoy the movie. Once he got fidgety, I asked him if he wanted to go home. He said, "Go home!" So we left.

Overall, I was very pleased at how well he did. It was beyond adorable to watch him eat his popcorn and enjoy the movie. Perhaps next time we'll actually be able to see the entire thing!

Thomas the Tank Engine

On the train!

Thomas is BIG!

Yesterday we drove 100 miles to see Thomas the Train. The wutz loved it, of course. The train ride was a whopping twenty-five minutes long. I hate trains, but I grinned and beared it for the wutz. He really did have a blast. Oh, and Granny and PopPop went with us, so he came home with a bag full of toys from the gift shop. They were enough to entertain him for the first 10 minutes or so at Cracker Barrel once we left from seeing Thomas.

Saturday Fun!

Today I helped Daddy fix the Scout! Once more I was a big helper!

Then I drove my Jeep all over the yard. I'm getting very good at steering!

This week we are learning the letter H. I colored a Hippo and I got to wear my favorite UGA hat to school, too!

A track goes through it...

Mommy and I spent some time Monday morning designing different tunnels for my Thomas trains. It was fun!
